About Sea Dream Resorts

Sea Dream Houses
Pool Beach Veranda Sunset View Statue Room

We are located at Km 18.5 on the National Road, going south from Dumaguete City.

Our resort is nestled directly in front of a marine sanctuary and is ideally accessible to explore the Island of Negros, from the mountaintops to the vast expanse of plains, to the seabed towards the Western part of the Visayas including Panay Island and onwards to the Northern parts of the Philippines.

Sturdy and spacious buildings meeting German standards are accented with palm-thatched roofs, watching over the resort’s courtyard and relaxing, crystal clear swimming pool. Our international chef oversees a personalized and wonderful restaurant with some of the finest cuisine you’ve encountered, and our seaside bar is a picture perfect place to relax.

Our house reef offers excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. It is amazingly convenient just 80 meters away from your room, to enrich your stay with direct access to the beachfront. Beach and snorkeling accessories are available for rent at the front desk.

The beautiful countryside nearby invites you for a leisurely stroll, or a trekking tour riding the local buses and other public transportation such as the tricycles and jeepneys that pass by on the National Highway. The hotel also offers motorbike rentals at a very reasonable price with a complete set of motorbike gear. We have a wide selection of the latest models of motorcycles and scooters in carefully maintained condition.

The Sea Dream Resort offers genuine, local hospitality and unique and enriching experiences amidst the beautiful natural landscape. Our belief is that by providing the high quality physical and spiritual environment that is conducive to serenity and tranquility, along with our team members’ attitude of skilled service, Sea Dream Resorts is where your dream of a relaxing tropical holiday becomes reality.

It is undeniable that a business enterprise such as Sea Dream Resorts represents an important part of the lives of our staff, for, in many ways, the business constitutes a person's principal social group, and it amounts to a replacement for the village or tribe that was the central social setting for our ancestors. In many ways, one's affiliation with a business is the most important social institution most of us have outside of the family.

We therefore take this responsibility to our team members seriously and realize that their sincere satisfaction with their work, along with excellent training and adequate empowerment, is one of the keys to a perfect stay for our guests.

Our staff is very committed to making your stay memorable. People create memories, not things. The real value in creating the memorable status of your time with us comes from the ladies and gentlemen who bring our resort to life. The facilities & location account for ten percent; the remainder is from the people.

We believe that we have the right product and the right location. Beyond that, it’s all about the right people.

Our opportunity is to be a catalyst to your personalized stay; to trigger and facilitate your interaction with the local people, the local community, the local attractions and activities, and beyond, to the extent you desire.

The fishing village of Dauin, founded in the 18th century (1765 or 1775?) is one of the oldest towns organized in Negros Oriental. Dauin is a small but (relatively, by provincial Philippines standards) wealthy community. During the Spanish regime, the local administration was left in the hands of a "Captain" under the close supervision of the local priest. Since Dauin's founding, Catholicism has gained a strong foothold in the town. There is an old Spanish mission on the town square which dates back to the time of these early European colonists, and the church of Dauin (1857), built by the Spanish friar, is the oldest existing in the province. Dauin may have gotten it's name either from a big tree called "GALAWIN" or the friendly small people called "Dawende" living in the tree, or from the manner the natives sold their bananas by the bunch of fingers "lawing" in the dialect

The land where Sea Dream Resorts is situated was undeveloped until a couple of years ago when construction began in 2011.

Sea Dream Resorts and Villa Del Mare are committed to having a positive impact on the local residents and the communities where we do business.

We are also committed to reducing our carbon footprint and protecting the environment, the health and safety of our guests, and the community in which we conduct our business. It is our policy to seek improvements throughout our business operations to lessen our impact on the local and global environment by:

  • conserving energy
  • conserving water, and other natural resources
  • reducing waste generation
  • recycling and purchasing recycled products
  • reducing our use of toxic materials

We understand our role as stewards of our land and sea, and the wildlife that resides here. We are committed to pollution prevention, continual improvement and meeting or exceeding all environmental regulatory requirements.

We know that even the best locations and offerings would be meaningless without outstanding guest services, available around the clock, 24 hours a day. Our trained, skilled, and motivated staff is equipped with the tools and the mind-set to naturally deliver on this promise. Within Sea Dream Resorts, every guest is offered a warm welcome and is made to feel special, valued and appreciated.

Our team members might not have the wealth, knowledge, or education of our guests, but they do share the same values.
